SELF PORTRAIT

In a small town by the Belorussian border, surrounded by fruit orchards, lives my grandmother. She is all alone, and the large garden surrounding her brick house has fallen into disarray. Every time I see her I wish I could fit her into my pocket and carry her with me where ever I go so she would never feel lonely again. This is her bathroom. In the morning, the light spills through the window. You can close your eyes while lying in the bathtub and feel like you are sleeping in a small boat under a sunny sky. I wanted to capture this beautiful moment so I could remember it exactly the way it was.
